Homes for Sale in Troon North Country Club
Troon Golf and Country Club is a private, member owned club offering world-class golf and club facilities to 390 members and their families. Internationally recognized for its championship golf course, designed by the team of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, Troon has set the standard for premier golfing communities.
The Troon Clubhouse is a unique blend of comfort and formality. Combining southwestern high-tech design with contemporary architecture rich in desert colors utilizing red sandstone and Arizona copper, the clubhouse features floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the breathtaking golf course, mountain and city lights views. The 48,000 square foot clubhouse includes a main dining room, mixed grill, men’s and women’s locker rooms complete with televisions and libraries, whirlpools, sauna and steam rooms, a co-ed fitness center with state-of-the-art exercise equipment and massage rooms, meeting rooms, and the golf pro shop. In addition, a lagoon-style pool, poolside grille, outdoor barbeque and 3 lighted tennis courts complete the amenities. The club maintains a high quality driving range and a large putting green designed for chipping and sand bunker practice.Located in the exclusive Pinnacle Peak area of North Scottsdale, it is situated at the base of Troon Mountain at an elevation of 2,400 feet. The course and club were named in celebration of Weiskopf’s 1973 British Open victory at the Royal Troon Club in Scotland. Troon not only inherited the name, but enjoys a close relationship with its Scottish sister: there are six chairs from the Royal Troon Clubhouse in the facility. The course ranges from 5,167 yards from the forward tees to 7,041 yards from the back tees. From the championship black tees, the course rating is 73.7 and the slope is 148. This high Sonoran desert course opened in 1986. Since then it has consistently ranked among the top one hundred golf courses in the world by the golf press.
Although property ownership is no longer required for membership in the club, there is an approximate 1-year wait list for prospective golf members. Troon Village property owners are always placed above non-property owners on the list. Unaccompanied guests are not permitted to use the golf facilities. TROON VILLAGE COMMUNITIES
Tusayan at Troon Mountain – Candlewood Homes
This is the last new development in Troon Village. Patio homes are offered with spectacular views that range in size from 2,500 – 3,400 square feet and are priced from $560,000 to $690,000.
Other Troon Village communities, Glenn Moor, Windy Walk Estates, Troon Ridge Estates, Troon Fairways, Artesano, Boulder Pass, Sabino Canyon, and Saguaro Canyon, offer land and homes for sale in the resale market. These options include patio homes starting in the low $400,000s, single family detached homes priced from $500,000 to well over $2.5 million and custom home sites that range from the low $200,000s to over $1 million.
The 410 yard 14th hole, called the Cliff, is a demanding straight-away par-4 that requires an accurate drive, staying away from the right side of the fairway that drops off dramatically. The second shot into the green also requires an accurate shot avoiding the boulders that guard the small undulating green.
