Troon North is one of only eight five-star rated golf facilities in North America. Memberships are available only to property owners within the Troon North residential community. The 37,000 square foot clubhouse, designed by local architect Vern Swaback, is a magnificent example of his ability to carefully craft the perfect blend of natural desert beauty and sensitive planning. The Clubhouse opened in 1994 and offers world-class dining, an award-winning pro shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and enough banquet space to accommodate parties of 200.

The Troon North community is adjacent to a 185 acre mountain preserve that surrounds the famous Valley of the Sun landmark, Pinnacle Peak. Here, multi-use trails on boulder-strewn ridges high above the desert floor meander through ancient saguaros, and ironwood and mesquite trees. To the north is a 16,000 acre state preserve for biking, hiking and other outdoor recreational uses, taking advantage of the higher elevations that bring cooler summer temperatures and cleaner air. In addition, the 4 acre Troon North Community Park offers tennis, basketball courts, barbeques, turfed play area and picnic ramadas.

Details

Food and Beverage minimum is $1,200 per year for all Memberships. Guest green fees, including cart, are $125 + cart (Oct through May) and $65 + cart (Jun through Sep). Immediate family guest fees are $60 + cart (Oct through May) and $30 + cart (Jun through Sep). Locker fees are from $120 to $220 annually (depending on size) for men and women. Cart fees are $20 for 18 holes and $11 for 9 holes. Reciprocal Golf available at Royal Troon, Scotland, and participating local clubs during summer. Legacy Memberships (21-45yrs) are available to sons and daughters of Members, the down payment is $5,000. There is no property requirement to join Troon Country Club.

RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP

Resident Membership at Troon North is available at no charge to all property owners within Troon North. To apply you must first close escrow on your property and complete an application form. Benefits include discounted green fees, a special phone line for priority tee times, range ball availability (fee) and handicap services (fee). Golf rates for resident members currently range from $85 to $135.

FEATURED HOLES

Monument Course- Par-5, 564 yard 3rd hole. This hole is appropriately named “The Monument” due to the large boulder outcropping in the middle of the fairway. A golfer who is a gambler can cut the corner with a long accurate drive, leaving an iron to the green. However, anything but a straight drive or one with a slight draw will probably result in a lost ball or an unplayable lie.

Pinnacle Course- Par-4, 407 yard 18th hole. This particular hole is called “The Pinnacle” because, from the tee, famed Pinnacle Peak is directly behind the green and provides the spectacular backdrop. Although reachable with a fairway wood and a short iron, an accurate tee shot is critical to successfully negotiating this beautiful hole. The liberal use of fairway bunkers requires accuracy because the longer the drive, the more likely one is going to be encountering trouble.
